About

I am Jiaqing (Vincent) Hu, a Ph.D. student at Simon Fraser University. My research interests span visual computing, reinforcement learning, and robotics, with experience in character animation, generative motion models, and computer vision.

I co-authored F3AMD: Fast FiLM-Conditioned Fourier Autoregressive Motion Diffusion, published in Computer Graphics Forum for SCA 2026. The work explores how architectural and sampling choices can make diffusion-based character animation fast enough to scale to large crowds. My contributions included extensive ablation studies, refactoring code for the new framework, independently testing architectural ideas, and reporting experimental findings in close collaboration with the team. My broader projects include learned motion matching, reinforcement learning for character control, and visual understanding of images and video.

I currently serve as a Teaching Assistant for CMPT 466: Computer Animation at SFU. My teaching experience spans the following courses, including previous offerings of Computer Animation:
